College of Business Senate

While a student at Michigan State I was a member of the Eli Broad College of Business Student Senate. Senate serves as the voice of the student body of the business college and works to improve the overall experience of all business students. With that strong of a goal I realized it would not be accomplished without a simple way to communicate on platforms where students were already hanging out: online – specifically facebook, twitter, and LinkedIn. [more details to come]

  • Over 700 facebook fans
  • Weekly postings and consistent engagement between senate at Broad students
  • 11th most influential twitter account at Michigan State (via WeFollow)

Career Services at Michigan State

The Career Services Network at Michigan State wanted to offer their services in a unique way that most universities don’t. As students are already extremely active on social media, the network decided to move to where the students hang out online to provide career advice and services. That’s when the Career Advice & Services Hub (CASH) was born. I was on a team of students and staff that developed the idea of a career advice resource made for students by students. Together with a team of students, career service faculty and  employers, we brought that idea into fruition through a blog, YouTube Channel, Facebook page, and Twitter through the nearly three years I worked there. I designed and built cashforcareers.com and customized all social media platforms. Day-to-day, I was in charge of managing all blog content and social media accounts. Highlights:

  • Over 1,200 Facebook Fans
  • 3rd Most Influential Twitter account at Michigan State (via WeFollow)
  • Nearly 27,000 YouTube video views
  • Increased site traffic 150% year over year

Papa John’s Pizza Chicago

Papa John’s Pizza locations will soon be opening in the city of Chicago, with their first store opening November 1st! We needed to start from the bottom up, although Papa John’s is a national corporation, these new stores are the first Papa John’s in Chicago (or at least first in quite a while). Right off the bat we built a facebook page, with a custom landing page and a twitter account with a custom background. Next we decided to build out a simple website with an integrated social media experience to hold the main information for users.

  • Soft opening and grand opening were a major success – with the only marketing done via social media! Details coming soon.
